Alignment brackets

Alignment brackets are used to align, guide and keep transition pieces in the correct orientation until it is permanently fixed by grout or bolting to the monopile foundation during offshore installation.

Description of Manufacturing Process
Brackets are fabricated from steel plates that are cut using laser or plasma cutting. They are then finished by grinding or deburring. Dependent on the design, milling and drilling are carried out to create slots or bolt holes.

Description of Supply Chain
Typically fabricated by the transition piece fabricator (Smulders, Bladt industries) or by specialised secondary steel fabrication companies (Kersten, Hutchinson engineering) contracted specifically for such components

Scottish Opportunity
Relevance to Scottish Supply Chain: High

These smaller components can be manufactured locally in Scottish factories. They can easily be transported to be integrated to transition pieces, whether these are fabricated in the UK or in other European countries
